Development Leadership - 10%

  • With Executive Co-Directors’ guidance, serve as the lead author of BAYCAT’s annual development plan to achieve all revenue and engagement goals, and monitor ongoing progress
  • Maintain an expert understanding of BAYCAT’s funding ecosystem and emerging opportunities that align with the organization’s trajectory

Individual Giving - 30%

  • Create and manage an annual calendar of solicitation and stewardship touchpoints, designed to increase giving and involvement from individual donors at all levels
  • Guide and support staff and board leaders on their efforts to cultivate & steward relationships with new and existing donors, through events, in-person meetings/calls/emails and through writing and decks that highlight our work
  • Design and execute BAYCAT’s annual year-end appeal and occasional targeted campaigns, drafting all copy and managing the digital communications flow through gift processing and acknowledgement
  • Serve as primary point of contact with a select portfolio of individual donors, collaborating with Executive Co-Directors, Board and other staff to deepen their engagement

Government and Foundation Grants - 20%

  • Facilitate alignment of BAYCAT’s needs with existing and emerging grant opportunities, in partnership with staff leadership
  • Review and approve all grant LOI, proposal, budget, attachment and report submissions and contribute to the development of content on critical proposals
  • Advise and support the Executive Co-Directors on relationship management with all institutional funders
  • Oversee the Development Manager to ensure the grants work plan is implemented with measurable success and proactive management of internal and external deadlines

Corporate Partners and Events - 20%

  • Collaborate with Co-Executive Directors, staff and board leadership to assess BAYCAT’s traditional event model (a 300+ person celebration) and shape a new strategy for 2025-26 that meets engagement and revenue goals
  • Plan and execute periodic, small-scale donor cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year,  managing all aspects of event operations and logistics, invite and RSVP lists and coordination of the Board, staff, volunteers and vendors
  • With BAYCAT Board and staff, shape partnership opportunities to attract leading corporate partners to support the organization through giving and volunteerism

Infrastructure and People Management - 10%

  • Serve as the primary administrator and point person on BAYCAT team’s use of Salesforce to streamline our development efforts, in addition to setting targets and monitoring progress on information capture, workflow and reporting
  • Support the learning and growth of the Development Manager
  • Provide day-to-day management of contractual support personnel, periodically engaged to provide support to timely fundraising efforts such as grant strategy/development or event production
  • Work with the Associate Directors Team to build a strong, inclusive and engaging work environment
  • Provide leadership and perform other duties as agency needs require.

Associate Director / Administrator Functions - 10% 

  • Provide input and contribute to  problem-solving for organizational-wide concerns from a community-based, relational, equity lens
  • Lead transparent and authentic communication practices with the team including frequent reflection of practices, providing positive and constructive feedback centering respect for and service of participants’ communities we serve through team reviews 
  • Actively support internal communication, meeting facilitation, and internal training that aligns with organizational goals and strategy, in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Advise on organizational budgeting processes along with the directors and management team, particularly with an equity lens to strategically compensate and grow the engagement of professionals and partners in our fields that come from historically excluded communities
  • Manage and advise on BAYCAT’s operational professional development, travel, and event needs and processes to ensure and enhance inclusive community engagement opportunities and BAYCAT-sponsored spaces in which our participants and team can work and learn

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

  • Has a passion and commitment to work with local underserved communities;
  • Has worked in nonprofit development for 4 or more years; demonstrated increasing responsibility in the development department/functions
  • Experience in the arts, media, workforce and/or youth development sectors a plus;
  • Detailed-minded with the ability to prioritize;
  • Is a good problem solver;
  • Has initiative and drive, ability to self-start;
  • Knowledge of project management software, Salesforce and Asana a plus;
  • Provides great customer service and can build relationships with our wide-ranging stakeholders from students, families, BAYCAT Studio clients to donors;
  • Calm under pressure & thinks quickly to solve problems as they arise; and
  • Is committed to personal and professional growth, and are aligned with BAYCAT’s core values.
