AFP Golden Gate's Committee on Directors is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Chapter's 2020 Board of Directors. The Board invites you to join the leadership of our Chapter and work with committed colleagues to advance AFP Golden Gate's mission to promote philanthropy and support the effective and ethical work of the diverse community of Bay Area fundraising professionals. We seek leaders from across the five Bay Area counties that comprise our Chapter and who are able to commit their time and talents to strengthening the Chapter and our service to our members.


 Calendar for Nominations

  • November 15: Deadline for Nominations
  • November 19: Board of Directors endorses 2020 Slate of Directors
  • November 20: Election period begins (members vote on Slate of Directors)
  • December 6: Election period ends
  • December 9: Annual Members Meeting--Election results announced
  • December 10: Election results published to AFP Golden Gate membership
  • January 1, 2020: Board of Directors terms begin

Four Steps to Nominate a Candidate

  1. Review the Board Member Responsibilities.
  2. Nominate yourself of another member of AFP Golden Gate as a candidate for the board by completing the Online Application for Board Nominees.
  3. Confirm interest in a board term by signing the Nominations Consent Form. Note: If you are nominating someone other than yourself, that candidate must sign the Nominations Form.
  4. Email both completed forms to [email protected] or mail to: AFP Golden Gate, 3871 Piedmont Ave #24, Oakland 94611.

The Criteria

  1. The candidate is a member in good standing of AFP Golden Gate Chapter.
  2. Diversity, including geographic, ethic, cultural, gender, size and type of organization, which philanthropic sector one works in, length of AFP membership, experience in the profession.
  3. Completed Online Application for Board Nominees providing information about the candidate's interest in a term on the AFP Golden Gate Board.
  4. Signed Nominations Consent Form affirming consent to be nominated.
  5. Understanding of the Board Member Responsibilities.
